Angelina Jolie, allegedly, wanted to escape to London with her six kids amid her ongoing divorce proceedings with Brad Pitt. Although the 45-year-old indeed expressed her interest in moving to the U.K., a dubious report tried to alter the story.
A tabloid claimed Jolie "announced to the media" her plan to relocate her children to Britain. Allegedly, Pitt motivated the move after the Maleficent star banned her kids from seeing their cousins from the 56-year-old actor's side.
Gossip Cop debunked these claims, saying there was no evidence showed that would prove Jolie barred her kids from meeting their cousins. It might only be temporary, knowing that the government imposed social-distancing rules due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
There were many factors as to why the cousins could not see each other this time. Pitt and Jolie were, also, on joint custody, so "blocking" their family was legally not permitted.
The famed humanitarian also told Harper's Bazaar in December that she could only live abroad with her kids if they were all 18 years old. For now, her youngest, the twins Vivienne and Knox, were only 12, so she could not relocate until after six years. A source close to the issue also proved that there was no truth to the dubious claim.
Indeed, Jolie had her sights to relocate to the U.K. and start anew. According to Daily Mail, she had been eyeing to live in Richmond, a suburb in South-West London, where she and Pitt used to live when they were filming in England in 2011.
An insider told Mirror Online Jolie found Richmond a perfect place for the kids, from a "cultural and educational" perspective due to its environment. The former couple had been traveling across the globe due to their work schedules that give their kids the chance to have a "diverse, global upbringing."
Jolie said she wanted her children to grow in the world by living in it and not just learning about it by having friends all over the globe. However, as she and Pitt were still embroiled in their almost four-year divorce battle, she simply could not do so.
She could only make it possible by having the kids for a few months in London. They would, then, return to the U.S. to see their father "for longer periods." Anyhow, Pitt, reportedly, wanted the children to stay in Los Angeles, where he, currently, lives.
