The premiere of Blue Bloods season 11 remains uncertain until now since filming for the new installment hasn't started yet. But, recently, CBS revealed some of its series' release dates and confirmed that the majority of its scripted shows might be back in November.
Even though this is good news, the premiere of Blue Bloods season 11 is still hanging up in the air. Filming hasn't started yet and there's no clear indication as to when it could officially kick off. Also, the series has to accommodate several post-pandemic production rules in New York City.
But, if ever the Tom Selleck-led series is one of the CBS shows returning in November, CarterMatt noted we could expect it to arrive as early as Friday, Nov. 6. There is, also, a chance that the new installment will premiere on Nov. 13, instead -- with two episodes airing before Black Friday.
However, since production hasn't begun at the moment, the producers probably need some time to store more episodes until, at least, the end of the year. Blue Bloods season 11 is facing several filming challenges right now because of the global health crisis.
Due to the pandemic, the series might look different once it premieres on CBS. A lot of restrictions are being implemented when filming outdoors. The upcoming installment won't likely have any potentially dangerous activities, such as using simulated firearms for the time being.
In addition, the early run of the new season might be reliant on non-public locations and indoor scenes to keep everyone safe. While these guidelines won't last forever, they could potentially change the course of the story.
Meanwhile, Blue Bloods season 11 may, also, address the real-life issues surrounding the policing world, such as police brutality and reform. In fact, Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan, wanted to further examine such issues as the story progresses.
In a previous interview with TV Insider, Wahlberg said they need to address what is, currently, happening in the United States. He noted that it's a good opportunity for them to be engaged with what's going on in the country and be part of the conversation.
Blue Bloods season 11 could take a general look at these matters. The Reagans may have different opinions about these issues and all of them need to hear each other's side. These are timely topics and the series could deliver messages to the viewers and could impact how they view such things.
