Divorce rumors had been endlessly plaguing Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's marriage since time immemorial. Allegedly, the two went on a romantic getaway as a move to save their marriage last year. But, did it really happen?

According to Gossip Cop, the 62-year-old host and her wife went on a vacation in Amsterdam this time last year. Despite the good purpose of their holiday, a tabloid created a made-up story about it.

The dubious report claimed the couple went to Amsterdam to fix their marriage and rekindle the alleged lost flame in their romance. They, reportedly, wanted the vacation to happen before the comedienne returned to work then.

An alleged source said DeGeneres and de Rossi's "separate busy careers" took a toll on their romance. At the time, The Ellen DeGeneres Show Season 17 was about to start, while the 47-year-old model was busy with her new art company, General Public.

The insider explained they had a hard time to put a balance on their work-home life. So, they were trying to reconnect before they became too occupied with work again.

Gossip Cop debunked the claim, stressing it was a fictional tale. Everything about the story was said to be "incorrect," as both DeGeneres and de Rossi did not go out of the country to rekindle their romance.

They never had any marital issues, which were often alleged about their relationship. DeGeneres even paid tribute to de Rossi on social media for their anniversary then.

Indeed, if they were having marriage problems, the Finding Dory star might never post anything like it. A source close to the situation also confirmed that the article about them was not true at all.

This year, DeGeneres and de Rossi were celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary. The two tied the knot on Aug. 16, 2009, after the same-sex marriage in California was legalized, Hello! noted.

Amid the controversy DeGeneres had been going through today after Ellen's former staffers revealed the alleged toxic work environment happening on the show's set, the Ally McBeal star came to her partner's defense. De Rossi shared a message of support to DeGeneres on Instagram, saying, "I Stand by Ellen," Insider reported.

She, also, thanked all their fans for their continuous support and confirmed they saw their efforts. De Rossi, also, used several hashtags, like Ellen's #bekindtooneanother and #stopbotattacks, which might have also been used to attack DeGeneres online.
