David and Victoria Beckham allegedly contracted the coronavirus earlier this year but kept it a secret. The power couple, reportedly, got infected by the deadly virus while attending parties in the United States for the launch of their new football club.

The Sun cited a source claiming that David and Victoria Beckham secretly battled and survived coronavirus after catching it in America. The couple purportedly spent weeks in isolation at their Cotswolds mansion in the U.K. as the Spice Girls alum feared that they might become "super-spreaders" of the virus.

Apparently, David was already in America earlier this year to oversee the launch of his football club, Inter Miami. Victoria flew in to support her husband.

The report has it that the Beckhams' COVID-19 ordeal was most likely started on March 1 when Inter Miami played their first game in Major League Soccer against the Los Angeles FC. David cheered for his team. The former pro footballer was joined by his family, including Brooklyn's fiancée Nicola Peltz as well as his celebrity friend Gordon Ramsay.

David and Victoria attended several more events before they flew back to London to celebrate the 21st birthday of their son, Brooklyn, on March 6. The event was attended by some celebrities including Emma Bunton and Stormzy. Victoria shared on Instagram several photos of her and David enjoying the party.

The couple, later on, returned to the States for a short trip to Miami. According to the source, David started to feel ill around this time while Victoria developed a sore throat and had high grade fever.

Several members of their team, including drivers, bodyguards, and assistants, also started to show symptoms of COVID-19. The insider said Victoria panicked and decided to put her entire family in strict quarantine for more than two weeks. Tests later reportedly confirmed that the couple was positive for coronavirus.

The Beckhams spent the entire summer at their country manor and declined party invitations. They made full recovery and have been regularly checked in with their team.

The couple purportedly canceled the 18th birthday of their son Romeo recently because of fear that they would break social distancing rules and contract the virus again if they would invite guests. The Beckhams haven't addressed the rumor yet.

Meanwhile, David and Victoria Beckham were some of the celebrities who first showed support to NHS workers when COVID-19 started to spread in the U.K. by participating in the weekly Clap For Carers initiative. The couple had posted photos and videos of them and their kids cheering on healthcare workers. The singer-turned fashion designer also made generous donations to food banks to help those who are hardest hit by the pandemic.
