Prince William and Kate Middleton are now back in London with their kids for the start of another school year. But they saw their time in the country in Norfolk, where they isolated from the coronavirus for six months, as a rare and special gift to never forget.

According to royal expert Victoria Arbiter, the Cambridge children -- Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2 -- experienced something significantly different than other royal children of generations past. Apparently, because of COVID-19, busy royal parents like William and Kate were able to have so much time to focus on their children.

Arbiter wrote on 9Honey that it's rare for royal youngsters to spend a prolonged time with their parents at home since mom and dad have to attend to their royal duties. But, the lockdown provided William and Kate the chance to give their children a normal childhood.

For instance, George and Charlotte experienced their parents sitting down with them to guide them with school work during the homeschooling phase of the lockdown. The kids, including growing toddler Louis, spent a lot of time outdoors to play, plant and physically enjoy nature with their parents.

Prince William revealed that he and the kids messed up their kitchen in Anmer Hall during the lockdown because they did a lot of baking. Kate revealed that they built tents in their backyard, biked on the estate and also played sports together.

Because of these experiences, Arbiter said that George, Charlotte and Louis will grow up as the "most well-adjusted generation the royals have ever known." Once they are old enough to perform their royal duties, they will apparently feel that their royal life was never a prison sentence because they had a happy childhood.

While Arbiter praised the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's parenting methods, they recently received criticisms for taking Prince George grouse hunting in Balmoral. The Cambridge family spent a weekend at the Queen's estate before the start of school, where Prince George was reportedly initiated to this traditional but allegedly brutal sport.

According to Daily Mail, PETA slammed Prince William and Kate for teaching their 7-year-old son animal cruelty. The animal rights organization said that bird hunting will damage the child's psyche when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge should have taught George compassion for animals as part of his leadership training. Kensington Palace did not comment on the outrage over Prince George's grouse shooting.
