Kate Middleton photography skill has received numerous praises both from the public and professional photographers. But, while this might seem a hobby for the Duchess of Cambridge, there is, apparently, an important reason behind her penchant for snapping portraits of her kids George, Charlotte and Louis.

According to Cosmopolitan, Kate takes her children's photos, especially of their milestone years, to share them to the public. Apparently, this is a tactic she has mastered over the years to keep the press photographers from encroaching on their privacy.

Prince William and Prince Harry grew up loathing the press because of what happened to their mother, Princess Diana. Royal experts said that, in order to balance their public and private life, Kate decided to become the royal family's official photographer.

Apparently, sharing the Duchess of Cambridge's snaps to the public limits the chances that cameras will be following them around. Their kids won't, also, have to deal with paparazzi harassment at an early age because Kate will usually share photos of her children, who naturally spark public curiosity.

Royal expert Camilla Tominey said, in a TV interview, with True RoyaltyTV that Kate "cornered the gap market" when she made it a tradition to release photos of George, Charlotte and Louis on their birthdays. Royal fans, apparently, have something to look forward to every year because of what she did.

Kate's photography, also, shows just how much she's getting better at taking pictures. Her children's portraits depict how much they are her favorite subjects. Their photos are passion projects so close to her heart.

Veteran royal photographer Arthur Edwards joked that Kate actually took his job as she became the official family photographer. In an interview with ITV, the longstanding photographer said that the royal family doesn't need his services anymore since they have the Duchess of Cambridge.

Edwards actually doesn't get many chances to take photos of George, Charlotte and Louis, except when they were born. Since the duchess also proves that she's brilliant behind the camera, the royal family enjoy having to pose for Prince William's wife.

Meanwhile, Kate, recently, picked 100 photos submitted by the public for her Hold Still project during the lockdown. The Duchess of Cambridge said that she had a hard time picking the best photos since she received over 31,000 submissions. Kate will unveil the online digital exhibit in the coming weeks. She did this project in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, where she is the patron.
