A woman who was told she wasn't allowed to wear an anti-Trump shirt at a gymnasium voting precinct for Tuesday's primary election because it is a violation of electioneering policies quickly came up with a solution: she simply took it off and cast her ballot topless.

Paul Scafidi, a town moderator in Exeter, New Hampshire, told the woman - who was wearing a shirt emblazoned with "McCain Hero, Trump Zero" - she couldn't vote wearing the outfit. The woman asked Scafidi if she could just take off her shirt.

"Boom! The shirt's off and she's just standing there and said 'How's this?' " the New Hampshire Union Leader quoted Scafidi as saying.

The moderator said he would have rather not seen the woman topless. But Scafidi said the "stripping" happened so fast and just took everyone by surprise.

The woman, who was not identified, simply walked away after casting her vote. People thought she could have just gone into a corner and turned her shirt inside out. She had nothing underneath her shirt, USA Today reported.

Scafidi said the woman pointed out that another woman nearby was wearing a shirt printed with the American flag. He responded by saying that an American flag did not constitute electioneering but her "Trump Zero" shirt did. Scafidi added a few other voters were in the gym but no children were present.

In 2018, CNN reported that a man whipped off his shirt supporting Donald Trump at a voting center in South Carolina so he could cast his ballot. It turned out later that Trump was not listed on the ballot during that election and that the voter was just mistakenly asked not to wear the shirt.

New Hampshire laws stipulate that a person can be found guilty of indecency and lewdness if the individual "fornicates or exposes his or her genitals" or engages in other acts of lewdness.
