Did former iKON leader B.I start his own label while he was on hiatus?

According to a report by All Kpop, B.I could have been working the whole time he was on a break.

The speculations about B.I's new label started when he was reportedly spotted in a shareholder's meeting for IOK Company.

Based the report, B.I, or Kim Hanbin, was one of the candidates to become an executive director of the agency. It is believed that once the documents are approved in the upcoming general meeting on September 25, Kim Hanbin's appointment will become official.

IOK Company is known as a big agency in South Korean entertainment. It is home to stars like Jo In Sung, Moon Soo Bin, Go Hyung Jung, Jung Eun Chae, Kim Na Young, and Kim Sook. Oh Sang Jin who also left YG Entertainment last year, recently signed with IOK.

B.I's affiliation with IOK is expected to be a wise business decision. Because the company's stable of artists is mainly composed of actors and television personalities, Kim Hanbin's addition to the company could help in signing more musicians to IOK.

However, as a copy of B.I's appointment was revealed, fans were immediately alerted to one particular detail. Fans were surprised to see B.I listed as an artist of 131 Label. Fans believe B.I established the music label during his year-long hiatus after he left YG Entertainment last year.

After these reports and rumors came out, IOK Company's website crashed. B.I's fans seemed to want to know more about the company. Kim Hanbin, and 131 Label became top trending topics on Twitter. Kim Hanbin, also, became a hot topic on Weibo and other Chinese sites. 

Fans expressed hope that B.I will make his comeback soon and share new music with the fans. For the past year, he maintained a low profile but left teasers that he was still actively working on music projects.

It can be recalled that last year, B.I left iKON and YG Entertainment after he was involved in allegations of procuring and using illegal drugs in 2016. A chat conversation with former YG Entertainment trainee Han Seo Hee was leaked by a major publication.

In the conversation, B.I was reportedly inquiring about purchasing drugs such as marijuana and LSD. As a result, the former iKON leader became the subject of a police investigation. During questioning, he admitted to some of the suspicions. In February, police revealed that he tested negative of illegal substances, Soompi reported.
