A new study has deemed the Duchess of Cambridge as the "undisputed Queen" of royal fashion. This comes after the data shows that she prompted more style-related searches on the internet than any other member of the family over the years.
The study from Fulton Umbrellas took the number of searches from 2017 up to 2020. The overall number, reportedly, places Kate Middleton on top of the list.
Based on the data, keywords like "dresses," "style," and "fashion" always go hand-in-hand with the Duchess of Cambridge's name. In 2020 alone, the searches for "Kate Middleton dresses" reached an "extraordinary" number of 33,800, noting that this is just one of the many keywords utilized by netizens.
Princess Beatrice, then, comes next to the Duchess. The phrase "Princess Beatrice hat" had over 10,600 searches in the past nine months.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth is far behind the younger royals. Although she is a "fashion icon" in her own right and style, there are much fewer people looking after her clothing preferences today.
The publication revealed that she generated over 500 searches this year, using the keyword "the Queen hat," and 350 for "The Queen dresses."
As for Princess Anne, her case is, reportedly, quite different. The same report explained that she prompted "significantly" fewer searches than Kate Middleton. But, an increase in the number of searches has become apparent in recent years.
Despite the varying changes in terms of the number of searches, it has since appeared that Kate Middleton always attracts the public with her stunning fashion pieces. Several publications even almost always release a list of the dresses and attires that she wears.
Not to mention, there are tons of websites dedicated only to feature what the Duchess of Cambridge wore. These "dedicated" sites include What Kate Wore, KateMiddletonStyle, and Kate's Closet.
With her popularity and fame, as well as her on-point fashion choices, it makes total sense why various brands always send her clothing items to wear during her appearances and engagements. She is now known for her "retail pulling power" because of this.
