Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi decided to have a small, private wedding amid the pandemic crisis. Their wedding plans met several controversies and a few cancellations since the start of the year.

After months of waiting, the then-engaged couple shocked fans and supporters upon announcing that they finally tied the knot on the grounds of Windsor in July. The British Royal Family, particularly the couple, seemingly kept silent about the special event.

But, royal fans and watchers now find it "delightful" that the eldest York Princess decided to give a "rare glimpse" into some of the items she used on her special day. The royal's wedding dress and pair of shoes will go on display at Windsor Castle, according to the Daily Express.

ITV's Lizzie Robinson shared the details of the display earlier this week. She said that the dress will start to go on display on September 24.

Robinson, later on, deemed that the decision to make a display out of her private wedding is "lovely." She emphasized that this is because no one from the public saw Princess Beatrice on her wedding day.

While the producer explained that this choice is partly because of the lockdown measures, ITV's Chris Ship argued that they chose to have a secret wedding because of the controversies surrounding Prince Andrew. But, amid all the discussions about the Duke of York, Lizzie Robinson recalled that Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie, also, had their wedding dresses go on display, along with other items.

Princess Beatrice wore a Norman Hartnell gown, according to Town and Country. She borrowed it from Queen Elizabeth two weeks before her wedding.

The British Monarchy first wore the gown in 1961 when she attended a State Dinner in Rome. She wore it again in 1962 and 1966 when she went to the premiere of Lawrence of Arabia and the State Opening of Parliament, respectively.

Upon asking permission, reports said that the Queen's personal dresser "refashioned" the dress. She added sleeves and fitted it to the Princess of York's frame.

Alongside the dress, her wedding shoes will also go on display. Sources said that she wore the same pair when she attended Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011.

Since their wedding, the public had not seen Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi until earlier this month. They went on their low-key honeymoon in the south of France and Italy, according to Hello! magazine.

The media obtained photos of the couple during their outing last week, adding that they "popped" into a baby shop. Earlier this week, several photos went public again when the York Princess had an outing with her now-step-son, Wolfie.
