Prince William reveals that becoming a father to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis has given him a "new sense of purpose." The Duke of Cambridge disclosed how much fatherhood changed him in a new documentary about conserving the Earth's resources.

Airing on ITV in October, the documentary Prince William: A Planet For Us All tracked the Duke of Cambridge's work for the environment in the last two years. Prince William said in one of the teasers that his outlook in life changed after having children because he's now more aware of the importance of leaving the world in a better condition for the next generation.

Prince William said that he grew up loving nature but his conservation work became more focused once he had kids. His search for ways to protect the Earth has had more direction as he is more determined than ever to do this for his children.

The Duke of Cambridge said that he is hopeful the world will soon find a fix to the looming problems affecting the environment.  He said that if people around the world work together then it can make a difference in the lives of the younger generation.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, also appears in the documentary. She is briefly seen in the clips telling environmentalist Sir David Attenborough, who worked with Prince William, that their children are his big fans.

Meanwhile, Prince William is preparing to make his very first TED Talk. The event, titled Countdown, is a free forum geared towards discussing climate change. Aside from the Duke of Cambridge, Marvel celebrities like Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Don Cheadle are also going to speak about their ideas to help preserve the Earth's natural resources.

Royal correspondents Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie of the podcast Royally Obsessed said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been hitting the ground running since they resumed their royal duties. The Cambridge family spent summer in Balmoral with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, after their isolation at Anmer Hall.

The royal experts also remarked that Prince William's TED Talk appearance might have been inspired by his father and grandfather. Prince Charles and Price Philip have staunchly campaigned for the environment, as well as illegal wildlife trade.

In December 2019, Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize, which will award five people who can find the best solutions for the environment. The Duke of Cambridge's initiative has a goal of at least having 50 solutions to environmental problems of the planet within 10 years.
