Melania Trump automatically became the First Lady of the United States when Donald Trump won the presidential race in 2016. Since then, reports have said that she has tried to copy her predecessor, Jackie Kennedy.

But, Marie Claire recently explained why her efforts are not working. It claimed that there is nothing similar between the two women.

Donald Trump's administration, reportedly, continues to push that the incumbent First Lady is the "second-coming" of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Many individuals from their camp, including the U.S. President himself, insists that the former model "embodies" Kennedy's "elegance and importance."

The publication asserted that Melania Trump and Jackie Kennedy are more than their iconic fashion pieces. Although Trump has "emulated" the former First Lady's fashion choices repeatedly, there is still an uncanny difference between them.

Writing the piece, Jennifer Stavros pointed out that Donald Trump's wife seemingly tried to wear similar clothes that her predecessor donned in the past. She referenced Melania's blue Ralph Lauren dress and gloves during her husband's inauguration in 2017. She, also, included the former model's choice to wear a blue Hermes scarf on top of her oversized sunglasses.

While media and fashion critics compared the looks to the iconic pieces and choices of Jackie Kennedy in the 60s, the report emphasized that the Trump administration fails to "recognize" that the former First Lady was more than her style. It highlighted how Kennedy's clothes were only an "extension of her character" and "artistic roots."

The same report continued that, while Melania Trump has since attempted to channel Jackie Kennedy's iconic style, she has yet to grasp and emulate the latter's character. Not to mention, their "messaging" has continued to be in contrast.

The First Lady, however, has not mentioned anything about emulating her predecessor. But, more than two decades ago, reports recalled how she revealed her "First Lady aspirations."

Melania Trump told The New York Times that she would be "very traditional." She, also, referenced "Betty Ford" and "Jackie Kennedy," which seemingly strengthens further the claims that she is, indeed, trying to copy the former First Lady.

In 2019, Donald Trump, also, made a remark about having their very "own Jackie O." He added that it is called "Melania," and the public should call it "Melania T," according to USA Today.

Following the claims he made, netizens slammed both Trump and his wife on social media. Many disagreed that Melania Trump is the Jackie Kennedy of the 21st century.
