Kim Cattrall may never return to do Sex and the City 3. But, if ever the film comes to fruition, Cynthia Nixon has an A-list star in mind that can take the role of Samantha Jones.

In an interview on Watch What Happens Live, Nixon believed her Ratched co-star, Sharon Stone, could be a perfect addition to Sex and the City 3. She would be a "totally amazing" pick to replace Cattrall if the third movie installment would ever push through, People noted.

The 54-year-old star told Andy Cohen the iconic actress would be "totally amazing" to join the franchise. Although she found Cattrall "incredibly great" in playing Samantha's role, she's convinced Stone could make it her own.

However, there were many suggestions that, if they would have a different fourth woman to join the film, it should be a woman of color. Cattrall, reportedly, suggested the same and Nixon believed it would be nice, too.

Alternatively, Stone said it would be an honor to work with Nixon on Sex and the City 3, but adding a woman of color would be an "important step" for the film. She assumed that's the right thing to do after Nixon mentioned the possibility.

Meanwhile, hopes for the third Sex and the City film were dashed after Cattrall decided not to return to the franchise. The 64-year-old star had a longstanding feud with one of the main cast members, Sarah Jessica Parker, and she's not interested in fixing their relationship.

Although they played BFF roles on the hit 2000s HBO series, they were far from being good friends in real life. In an article for the Los Angeles Times, she said she's done talking about Parker.

She seemed to say anyone interested to learn about their public feud could check Google because everything's on it. If people wanted to know the things she had said about SJP, she encouraged them to search for it.

Despite the decades-old feud, Cattrall revealed she had no regrets. Rumors about their rift began when she told Piers Morgan in 2017 that they were "never really friends" behind the camera, HollywoodLife reported.

Things, then, came to a head when she publicly embarrassed Parker when the latter offered her condolences after her brother's death. At that tragic time, Cattrall frankly told her she didn't need Parker's love or support. Despite their feud, Cattrall still "fondly" recalled her time on Sex and the City movie and TV series.
