Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will reportedly have a camera crew following them for three months as they work on a new reality series for Netflix.

A report from The Sun said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are working on a "tasteful" show that will give viewers a glimpse of what they do for charity. The source added that it's not yet clear if the cameras will also provide a peek into their Montecito mansion.

The focus of the docuseries will be on their philanthropy. Allegedly, Meghan wanted to do this show so that the viewers will be able to see the "real her."

In September, the couple announced that their Netflix deal will shine the light on issues like racial equality, female empowerment and the environment. Their publicists said that the Sussex pair will be working behind the cameras for this production deal.

However, the source reiterated to The Sun that Netflix wants more from the Sussexes. But royal biographer Ingrid Seward said that having a camera follow them around would appear "hypocritical" since the Harry and Meghan left London to have privacy in California. Seward also said that the the Sussexes are doing the opposite of what they said they won't do when they stepped back as working royals.

PR expert Mark Borkowski said that Netflix's biggest documentaries are reality shows and if Harry and Meghan want their voices heard then this format would make sense. But he warned that the royal family will not like this reality series.

Us Weekly reported that Harry and Meghan hope their Netflix deal would build up their reputation after their royal exit. An insider said that the offer was "too tempting to resist" as the Sussexes try to rebrand themselves to earn their financial independence.

Their original plans to establish a new charity was pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic. The insider added that Prince Harry is eager to make a mark in Hollywood as much as his wife, who worked as a former TV star.

A spokesperson for Netflix declined to disclose what Prince Harry and Meghan have in development apart from a nature show and an animated series on inspiring women. Reports cited that the Sussexes have a five-year contract with the streamer while Netflix boss Reed Hastings hinted that the pair will have something released as early as 2021. The executive believes this program will become the most viewable content on the streaming platform.
