Attack on Titan Season 4 may take a long while before it graces fans' TV screens due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also good to note that there are substantial time gaps between the new seasons' releases, like a four-year waiting game between Season 1 and Season 2.
The previous season was also divided into two parts, dropping the first episode in July 2018 while releasing the final episode after a year -- in July 2019. So, it might take some time before fans could see what would happen in the newinstallment, Devdiscourse noted.
However, HITC revealed the long would be soon over. Attack on Titan Season 4 would be out on Dec. 7 in Japan and "later this year" on Crunchyroll.
There are also theories it will have two cours that will divide the final arc into two parts - ten and 12 episodes, just like the previous season. The first part may be out in December 2020 or early January 2021, while the second part will be out later next year.
But, what will happen in the final season? Season 3 explored Eren's fabled basement, revealing the truth behind the Titans and the unknown's history.
Will the Titan manage to capture Eren's layer in the new season? Eren, along with Armin and Mikasa's help, will try to regain their "lost glory" to save humanity. After a battle with the Titans, they are about to show their dominance.
The final arc will follow the story of the manga series' Chapter 91, which will continue the aftermath of Season 3. The Nation Roar noted the story would go "overseas" with the significant progress the survey corps show.
The reveal trailer for the final season also teased what to come. By the way, with the show's hype, the preview has now become the "most viewed Seasonal Anime TV trailer on YouTube."
The clip hints a new environment, showing a new landscape resembling the World War-esc battlefield. There will also be new titans coming that may have something to do with the final battle with Marley.
However, there are no words if there will be a new titan ability at play in Attack on Titan Season 4.
