New opinion polls again confirm Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden is expected to win the presidency of the United States in a blowout on November 3.

Major recent polls taken from Sept. 16 to 30 as compiled by RealClearPolitics (RCP) foretell a convincing Biden landslide. The RCP average for the national general election poll for this time span shows a 6.6 percent edge for Biden. It has Biden seizing 49.7 percent of the popular vote against Trump's 43.1 percent.

Biden also wins the Electoral College vote big time.  The latest FiveThirtyEight Electoral College forecast predicts Biden taking 352 of 538 electoral votes. A total of 270 Electoral College votes is needed to become U.S. president. In the U.S. it's the winner of the Electoral College that goes on to become president.

Of the 11 major polls in the latest RCP average, the highest Biden winning margin, 10 points (54 percent to 44 percent), came in the ABC News/The Washington Post poll. Biden's lowest winning margin (two points, or 47 percent to 45 percent) was recorded by Harvard-Harris. Nine of these polls have Biden ahead from anywhere from five percent to 10 percent.

Biden was also ahead in major polls not included in the RCP average. He was up seven percent in the CNBC poll and nine percent in the Quinnipiac poll. Biden's enduring and commanding lead in these polls, and the fact only some 6% of voters haven't yet made-up their minds as who they'll vote for, all seem to herald a Biden win.

Political pundits point out Trump isn't in the same situation he was in during 2016 against Hillary Clinton. Trump back then was the insurgent candidate with no record in politics battling Clinton in unpopularity.

Now, as the incumbent, Trump has a record of failure Biden can attack. Polls show Trump's incompetent response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has taken the lives of 211,000, is the single issue damaging him the most among voters. Voters trust Biden to do a better job of reining in the coronavirus than Trump.

Biden's share of the vote in a four-way race has remained at about 50 percent for the past few months while Clinton never exceeded 46.2 percent. The affable Biden's favorability rating stands at 45 percent and 47 percent unfavorable compared to Trump's 42 percent favorable and 53 percent unfavorable.

Fifty-two percent of voters disapprove of how Trump has handled his job as president. Polls also show 57 percent of voters upset or dissatisfied with Trump.
