Prince Harry lost his military appointment as the Captain General of the Royal Marines when he and wife, Meghan Markle, decided to step back from their royal duties in March.

A royal expert now claims that the Duke of Sussex will not have his military role reinstated because of his political activism in America. Apparently, Buckingham Palace will not put Prince Harry back as the Captain General and Prince William will replace his brother once the Sussex pair's 12-month review is over.

According to royal journalist Richard Palmer, the Palace thinks the Sussex pair crossed the line for their intervention in the November U.S. presidential elections. Palmer made this statement after word allegedly got out from a senior Royal Navy that Harry's current status isn't going to change after March next year.

Harry and Meghan have been very vocal about urging Americans to cast their vote since the summer despite not endorsing any candidate. While Prince Harry won't be able to participate in this civic duty as he is British, he told Americans to reject hate speech and online misinformation during the election campaign.

Royal observers, however, believe that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are aligned with the Democrats given Meghan's politics. The actress supported Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign in 2016 and she has also voiced her excitement for Kamala Harris's vice presidential nomination.

Prince Harry and Meghan's arrangement with the Queen is set to be reviewed in March 2021, or one year after they've stepped back from their duties. Royal experts said that Her Majesty left the door open for her grandson and his wife to come back in case they feel that their decision early this year was a mistake.

However, since arriving in the U.S. in mid-March, Harry and Meghan have slowly carved out their future. They bought a permanent home in Montecito with sources saying it's where the Sussexes plan to set their roots as they raise Archie. They also closed a five-year deal with Netflix to produce different shows, which they will not be able to fulfill if they return to their royal work next year.

Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed that Prince Harry was most demoralized when he was stripped off his military distinctions and appointments. These were the achievements he was most fulfilled and most proud because he was never treated a royal and was simply Captain Wales, a part of the brotherhood.
