Apple is working to improve its future Apple TV models which rumors say have A12 and A14 chips.

Several rumors on a new Apple TV recently surfaced, indicating that the Cupertino-based tech company is working on new models that will feature A12 and A14 chips. In a tweet, Fudge, a leaker who goes by the name of @choco_bit on Twitter shared some fresh information on what Apple fans can expect with the supposed new Apple TV models.

In the tweet, Fudge revealed that Apple is currently working on several new Apple TV set-top box models, with one of the models featuring an A12 chip variant and another one with an "A14X-type" chip. Fudge also claimed that along with the new Apple TV models are also redesigned controllers for the devices. Fudge did not specify in the tweet, however, whether or not the said controller serves as a reference to the updated Siri Remote or some new game controller designed by Apple engineers.

Earlier this year, about the time Apple seeded iOS 13.4 beta to developers in February, talks about a new Apple TV with an A12 bionic chip also appeared. This suggested that the Cupertino tech giant is working on a model that might appear sometime in late 2020. Apart from talks about the models using an A12 bionic chip and A14 chips, as well as having code names like "T1125," there were no additional details about the supposed new Apple TV, though rumors at the time claimed the device may feature 64GB and 128GB storage capacity.

Jon Prosser, another Apple leaker, claimed that the new Apple TV comes with an A12X Bionic chip, though a rumor from a news outfit indicates the device will use an A14 chip, which is the same chip powering the iPhone 12. Everyone agreed, however, that Apple engineers are working on new Apple TV models with the faster A12 bionic chip and A14 chips, and perhaps a redesigned remote control. The updated remote control is said to include a feature similar to Find My iPhone, which is useful if the remote somehow gets lost inside the house. As for its launch, some say it is due for release in late 2020 while others expect its launch in 2021.

In the case of Fudge, the leaker also mentioned that Apple is also working with developers to develop console-level games for Apple Arcade to boost the gaming service. The move appears to lend credence to the claim that the Cupertino-based tech company is working on new Apple TV models with A12 and 14 chips as some games only run on A13 Bionic chips, which means an upgraded Apple TV is required to access the new Apple Arcade game additions.
