Grey's Anatomy season 17 is currently in production and preparing for a fall premiere. Recently, the series released its first trailer and showed how the current global health crisis impacted the lives of each character. The clip also hinted that one of the original cast members might be in grave danger.

Grey's Anatomy season 17 kicks off with Station 19 season 4 crossover event and a story focusing on the pandemic. The series was forced to shut down earlier this year due to the COVD-19 outbreak and opted for an alternative season 16 finale.

Now, the new season will tell a story about what happened in the real world over the past few months. The latest promo teased how the current global health crisis hugely impacted the doctors. This is something bigger compared to what they have dealt with in the past.

The clip showed some moments from previous crises but also left fans concerned about what's next to the characters. One of the worrying scenes shown in the trailer is that Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) is seemingly lying in a hospital bed while Levi Schmitt (Jake Borelli) is on her side.

The promo also showed Bailey wearing a mask on her face while others are crying outside the hospital doors. In the voiceover, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) can be heard saying an ominous message: "What we're up against now is unlike anything that came before."

At the end of the clip, Meredith said: "Sometimes, we all need saving." This fuelled speculations that one of the characters is in danger, with Bailey being the top candidate. She is one of the longest starring characters in the series and Grey's Anatomy season 17 might be her last.

Some fans expressed their concerns on social media about the current situation of Bailey. One fan asked what happened to the characters, while another one said Bailey needs to be okay. For now, it remains to be seen whether or not Wilson will, indeed, depart from the show in the future.

Meanwhile, the clip also highlighted other important events coming in Grey's Anatomy season 17. Some of these include Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Link (Chris Carmack) welcoming their baby, and Richard Webber's (James Pickens Jr.) near-death situation.

In addition, fans are going to see DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) dealing with his mental health, which has been affecting him in the past season. Teddy (Kim Raver), Koracick (Greg Germann), and Owen's (Kevin McKidd) complicated situation will be explored, as well.

Grey's Anatomy season 17 will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 12, on ABC.
