Grey's Anatomy season 17 is, currently, in production after a quite long hiatus. Cast and crew are back to work to deliver new episodes this coming fall. Just recently, the series released a new teaser featuring several characters and it serves as a refresher from the previous installment.

The clip seemingly highlights some of the important events coming in Grey's Anatomy season 17. For instance, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Link (Chris Carmack) will be welcoming their baby, while DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) is still struggling with mental health.

Also, we're going to see Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), who was in a near-death situation. But, perhaps, the biggest storyline in the upcoming installment involves Teddy (Kim Raver), Koracick (Greg Germann), and Owen (Kevin McKidd). Fans have seen the three in a complicated situation last season.

There are a few episodes left in the previous season and these will be incorporated in the latest installment. Reportedly, the original season 16 finale will feature a major death. Yet, that wasn't filmed due to the production shutdown and it might be featured in the new season.

However, it should be noted that a lot of things have changed this 2020. Grey's Anatomy season 17 may not immediately address some of these storylines. The new season will be taking on other timely events, particularly the current global health crisis.

The series will be delivering stories that reflect some of the events happening in the real world. We're going to see most of the characters putting their lives at risk in order to save other people. They'll be in a tough position and we could expect a lot of emotional moments moving forward.

The upcoming installment brings pandemic-related stories. The Grey Sloan staff members deal with something similar to what's currently happening in the world. The real-life health crisis will be explored through the show's point of view.

The premiere of Grey's Anatomy season 17 will be a two-hour event. A lot of stories will be addressed here and we could see some personal storylines being explored. It's interesting to see how Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and others will handle the current situation while dealing with their personal issues.

In a related report, Pompeo shared on her Instagram that she dedicates the new season to all the frontliners risking their lives during the pandemic. The actress that said about 7,000 healthcare workers have lost their lives amidst the battle against the COVID-19.

Grey's Anatomy season 17 premieres on Thursday, Nov. 12, on ABC.
