Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were the talks of the town, especially in the U.S., when they quit their royal roles more than nine months ago. A celebrity expert, however, said that this doesn't seem to be the case this time as Americans are "no longer fascinated" the Sussex pair.
Perez Hilton, the American celebrity blogger, told Good Morning Britain that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no longer interesting to the people in the U.S. The curiosity around the Sussexes apparently died down when the pandemic happened.
The celebrity blogger said that the pandemic is so bad for many people in the U.S. and even among the stars. Hilton said that he's personally not as invested with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex compared to their bombshell announcement in January when they told the world they will no longer be working royals.
However, Hilton said that Americans still care about the Sussex pair, especially Meghan, who is one of their own. The controversial gossip columnist also bluntly said that the British people make Meghan their scapegoat.
Hilton analyzed that Harry wanted out of The Firm for a long time because of how the institution operated. The blogger described Meghan as Harry's "escape clause" after his years of rebelling against the royal family.
But, Hilton has been fueling rumors of a potential second baby for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. A source claimed that the Sussex couple is looking to expand their family since they are getting their life on track following their royal exit.
Harry and Meghan have found the house where they'll raise Archie and set their roots in Montecito. They also have had a favorable Netflix deal that will lock in their financial independence from the royal coffers.
Meanwhile, a source told Daily Mirror that Harry and Meghan do not have any plans to celebrate the Christmas holidays with the royal family for a second year in a row despite reports that the Sussexes are eager to be in Sandringham. The snub has nothing to do with the threat of COVID-19 and travel but because Meghan apparently wants to host her very first Christmas in the house she bought with Prince Harry.
Sources said that Meghan Markle and Harry have invited the Fosters, David and Katherine, for Christmas. Harry sees David as a second father and the couple lives nearby in Montecito as well.
