Stuart Camp, the manager of hit singer Ed Sheeran, is setting the record straight about what really happened to his talent's face and he is blaming Princess Beatrice for it.

Camp said that he's very protective of this sensitive incident, which happened in 2016. They never publicly talked about how Sheeran got the cut despite the speculations of Princess Beatrice's involvement.

The manager said that they were advised to lie about it or just name someone else since people are surely going to ask. The cut is visibly on Sheeran's cheek and there is still noticeable scar even today. But, Camp decided not to talk and just let the speculations bowl over. However, he decided to finally speak up this week.

Camp didn't hold back in saying that Princess Beatrice is an id**t for harming Sheeran. The manager said that taking a sword off the wall to play with it is "just asking for trouble." He also revealed that they have not "heard hide nor hair" from the princess since the accident.

In 2016, reports surfaced that Princess Beatrice was trying to "knight" James Blunt with the sword from her grandmother's Windsor Palace during one dinner party with less than 20 friends. Apparently, while the princess was limber and fit, she failed to take into account the weight of the sword and swung it without realizing that Sheeran was behind her.

The sword's blade cut below Sheeran's right eye and the singer was rushed to the hospital for stitches. Princess Beatrice, on the other hand, was "inconsolable" while the rest of the guests were in shock.

But, Sheeran apparently assured the princess that it was an accident. Sources said the singer returned to the party after getting the stitches. He was with his then-girlfriend, and now wife, Cherry Seaborn.

Sheeran also posted photos of his scar online the next days after the accident. He kept his appearances on schedule despite his face injury.

Blunt denied Princess Beatrice's involvement in an interview on March 2017. Sheeran, on the other hand, told talk show host Graham Norton in that same year and joked that he can't talk about it because he doesn't know what will happen if he squeals.

Fans, however, think that Sheeran is still friends with the royals. He joined Prince Harry, the cousin of Princess Beatrice, in one bit online to talk about Mental Health Day in late 2019.
