According to Trending News Buzz, Sword Art Online Season 4 may not be out until 2024. Between Season 2 and Season 3, fans also had to wait for four years before they finally got to see the latest season.
So, it is not far they are going to experience the same for Season 4. Anyhow, with the storyline and other features that the anime has to offer, the long wait is definitely worth it.
The previous season's Alicization arc was divided into two parts and both were good and amazing. By the time the second part ended, Sword Art Online Season 4 was announced.
It may take the series creator Reki Kawahara at least two years before creating a compelling story that will complete the new arc. Once he finishes this, it will take additional time before the materials finally get published.
If it will only take Kawahara two years to complete the new arc, then the earliest possible date that fans will see Sword Art Online Season 4 is 2023. If three years is still too long, the new season may only be out a little earlier if he publishes ten volumes before 2022.
Of course, fans can expect the original cast to reprise their roles in the coming new season. Nobunaga Shimazaki may continuously be the voice behind Eugeo, Ai Kayano as Alice Schuberg, Yoshitugu Matsouka as Kirito, and Haruka Tomatsu as Asuna.

Anyhow, the previous season teased Alice needed some help, so Kirito might wake up to provide everything that Alice had need of as much as he could.
