The Milwaukee Bucks are aware that Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the subject of trade proposals from rival teams in the offseason, and more so if the back-to-back MVP rejects a max extension. In such a case, prudence dictates that Antetokounmpo gets traded but the Bucks are reportedly veering away from that direction.

The team will keep The Greek Freak for next season and no matter what. It is possible that Antetokounmpo will elect to join a new team next year and the Bucks will need to release the 25-year-old for nothing. It appears though they are willing to take that risk.

That is the latest Antetokounmpo update shared by ESPN's Tim Bontemps, who claimed that Milwaukee will work on roster upgrades in the weeks to come. The organization seemed optimistic that the beefing up measures they'll implement will convince the superstar that better campaigns are ahead for the Bucks. Ergo, he will stick it out with the squad.

"Multiple sources have emphatically said Milwaukee will not look to trade Antetokounmpo if he passes on the extension. Instead, the Bucks will try to improve their roster and use the next year to show Antetokounmpo why he should stay," Clutch Points reported Bontemps as saying.

How exactly the Bucks' roster improvement will play out remains to be seen but it can be assumed will be spending big when the trade market opens. It used to be that NBA superstars are chasing titles and joining up with teams where they will most likely find success but it will be the reverse for the Bucks.

The team, frustrated several times to play in the NBA Finals despite the dominance displayed by Antetokounmpo in the past seasons, is thought to be running after big stars in the offseason. Who are on the Bucks' hiring list is still a mystery but the objective is for the team to gain enough strength for next season's title run.

Milwaukee's stance on the subject came as no surprise. Yahoo Sports reminded that right after the team's exit from the playoffs last season, Antetokounmpo came out with his clear declaration that switching sides is not an option for him.

Then the star had a business meeting with key Bucks officials and it was understood that after the discussions, Antetokounmpo has a stronger resolve to stay where he's at for the upcoming seasons. Sure, the superstar wants his hands on the Larry O'Brien but he seemed convinced he'll have that experience with Milwaukee.

Still, the drama is only expected to continue. If NBA fans will take Bucks words for what they are, then the next thing to watch for is who are the big names that will make Antetokounmpo's life in Milwaukee more exciting.
