Prince Charles is the one person who can fix Prince William and Harry's feud and a royal biographer believes that the Prince of Wales is encouraging a reconciliation behind the scenes.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Robert Lacey said that the Palace has been mum about the royal brothers' reconciliation ever since the feud made the papers. Lacey is the author of the newly-released biography, Battle of Brothers: William, Harry and the Inside Story of a Family in Tumult.

Lacey said that the Prince of Wales is the most obvious person who has the ability to push William and Harry to reconnect. The biographer also said that it's not widely known if Prince Charles has come into the picture but he strongly believes that the heir to the British throne is "mending the fences" as well as "building the bridges" between his sons.

The author wrote in his book that Harry and William's rift is almost irreparable. Lacey believes that the brothers' feud is a reflection of the pain and trauma of their childhood and their damaged upbringing, which means that their issues run deep.

The Duke of Cambridge and Sussex were raised to be supportive and protective of each other after losing their mother, Princess Diana. However, over time, they clashed over their perceptions of duty versus love as William learned to embrace his future role and Harry realized he'll always be the spare.

Another source also told Us Weekly that Prince William and Harry no longer answer each other in public since that summit with Queen Elizabeth. However, unknown to the people, Prince Charles' sons apparently still hold anger and resentment for each other.

The coronavirus pandemic also affected the chances of the brothers' reconciliation. Harry was supposed to be back in London with his wife, Meghan Markle, this fall but the travel restrictions hampered their plans.

Lacey said, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, that instead of spending more time to fix their rift, Harry and William have grown further apart because of the physical distance between them. In the biographer's opinion, these brothers' separation will be for good.

However, a source told Entertainment Tonight that, contrary to perception, Prince Harry and Meghan have gotten closer to the royal family despite the pandemic lockdown. The source implied that many of the drama reported in the tabloids about the royals are not true. Prince Charles, William, and Harry frequently communicate via video conference calls to bridge the distance.
