Im Siwan and Shin Se Kyung led the cast of Run On for the drama's script reading.

According to a report by Soompi, the script reading finally pushed through after several delays caused by COVID-19 related issues. It can be recalled that the drama was  delayed last month after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus. This prompted the actors and other production staff to undergo testing.

Im Siwan, Shin Se Kyung, and Lee Bong Ryeon were among those who had to get tested. They also underwent quarantine procedures as a preventive measure, All Kpop reported.

Last week, lead star Im Siwan had to undergo a second round of the COVID-19 test after one tenant in his apartment building was found positive for the virus. The actor shared his test result with fans and asked them not to worry because it came out negative, Soompi reported.

Run On will focus on the story of Ki Sun Kyum, a former track and field athlete who retires from the sport and takes the new role of a sports agent. Shin Se Kyung plays the role of Oh Mi Joo, a foreign film translator. Girls' Generation Sooyoung takes on the character of sports agency CEO Seo Dan Ah, while Kang Tae Oh embodies the role of popular art student Lee Young Hwa.

According to Run On director Lee Jae Hoon, he is excited to showcase the wonderful chemistry of the cast members through the drama. He promised to do his best to make a memorable drama with a good working environment.

Based on the proceedings of the script reading, Im Siwan and Shin Se Kyung perfectly portrayed the emotions of their two characters and displayed a natural rapport that led the fans to root for the "Kyum Mi" couple. Sooyoung and Kang Tae Oh also displayed strong chemistry that already hinted that they will make many hearts flutter with their story.

According to the production team, the actors' ability to connect gave them the advantage of deeply portraying their characters and their struggles. They said that the cast perfectly embodies the message of communicating and connecting that the series wishes to deliver to the viewer.

Run On is helmed by Good Manager director Lee Jae Hoon. The drama is written by Park Si Hyun. It will start airing on JTBC in December and take over the timeslot of Private Lives once it ends.
