Prison Break Season 6 is, reportedly, in the works, although major details about it remain under lock and key. Fox Entertainment President Michael Torn already confirmed the show's renewal, so what will happen from here?

It has been more than three years since Season 5 ended. The lead stars, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, are often hinting at the Prison Break Season 6's coming.

However, its official release date has yet to be revealed. According to Devdiscourse, it is quite impossible the new season will be out this year.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continuously grapples the world, the show may take some time before it manages to complete its production. With the current government protocols to avoid the disease's spread, the creators may need additional time to work on a new season.

Sarah Wayne Callies, who played the role of Michael Scholfield's (Miller) wife Sara, regularly shares photos of her Prison Break character with Miller on Instagram. Is she subtly hinting the coming of Prison Break Season 6?

Of course, fans can't help but leave comments on her posts, wondering if it has something to do with the new season's coming. Some said they miss the show's characters so much, asking them to return to the small screen.

Her co-star, Purcell, has been hinting at the coming of the new season on Instagram. He even once said Season 6 is going to happen, Rojak Daily noted.

Miler himself is also open to the possibility of bringing his character back to the small screen. He said there is a room for more stories, as long as it is worth telling, cool, and edgy.

Miller stressed the new tale must not let the fans down. It should satisfy and surprise the viewers, and he is open to talking about it.

When the show returns, there are strong assumptions that it will be quite different from its previous seasons. Michael and Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) may begin a new adventure that will be like no other.

Fox confirmed Prison Break Season 6's coming in January 2018. Digital Spy reported the network was already "developing a new iteration" of the show at the time. Torn hinted it was in "very early stages of development" and just like fans, they, too, were already excited about it.
