The Curse of Oak Island season 8 is officially coming within a few weeks on History. Initially, it was assumed that the reality treasure-hunting series will be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But, the network confirmed its arrival with a premiere episode titled "Remote Control."

Reportedly, filming of The Curse of Oak Island season 8 started as early as June. Fans were excited about the show's return, considering the huge discoveries in the previous installment. Amidst the current global health crisis, the filming crew has been reported to be working on the site.

Big trucks and huge mining machines were seen on the island, with residents noting the road towards the swamp is being expanded. The widening may have something to do with having more equipment since the heavier ones could cause damage on the road.

Heavy equipment operator Billy Gerhardt is the only person spotted on the island, while brothers Marty and Rick Lagina are yet to be seen. The Curse of Oak Island season 8 focuses more on digging the Money Pit, with the team proceeding with their project "Big Dig."

Based on the preview, Rick, Marty, and the team will focus on the swamp. This would be the site of their major excavation to unearth a newly found structure. They wanted to figure out why the bog was artificially modified or made as much as 800 years ago.

The Curse of Oak Island season 8 premieres with the Lagina brothers returning to Oak Island, in Nova Scotia, Canada, amidst the pandemic. They have come prepared after finding evidence of a potential tunnel leading to the Money Pitt.

The Laginas believed they could solve the 225-year-old mystery on the island now that they have the right tools. The latest installment is considered the biggest one for the show so far. The team prepared the project "'Big Dig' in the Money Pit", hoping to uncover the secretive treasures buried deep in the area.

Back in season 7, everyone agreed not to use can anymore since they only reach a certain distance using the equipment. With "Big Dig," Marty and Rick will be using new technologies and strategies. They'll be digging farther than 50 feet deep down using strategic dives and sonic core.

It is believed that the Money Pit was moved far down because of floods, landslides, and other natural causes. The hunt was said to be going for over 200 years now and none of the treasure hunters or explorers found it. Now, the latest expedition could lead the Laginas to valuable items.

The Curse of Oak Island season 8 will be arriving on Tuesday, Nov. 10, on History.
