The release date for "The Boys" Season 3 remains unknown as the production has not begun yet. But, a few details about the new installment has already made its way into the headlines.
CBR reported that the show's recurring stars, Claudia Doumit and Colby Minifie, are now series regulars, particularly for the upcoming installment. The avid fans will soon see more of their characters, Victoria Neuman and Ashley Barrett, respectively, when the third season arrives on Amazon Prime Video.
Minifie's character first came to the series during the pilot season. She has since played the role, appearing in a total of 13 episodes.
Meanwhile, Doumit only joined the cast during its second season run this 2020. She made a total of five-episode appearances, including the finale of Season 2.
Aside from the new series regulars, The Boys Season 3 previously welcomed its latest addition to the set. Variety reported that the Supernatural star, Jensen Ackles, will join the show in its succeeding episodes. He will play the role of Homelander's predecessor, Soldier Boy.
Reports noted that the character is a "twisted version" of Captain America. He has since received the branding of Vought's original Homelander, who came before Antony Starr's Homelander.
In the series' plot, Ackles's character, reportedly, fought in World War II. After his heroic efforts during the war, he consequently became the first celebrity superhero.
The Boys Season 3 will likely pick-up its pace after peace seemingly became apparent among the main characters. However, it would not come as a surprise when things turn down south once again when the show returns.
Season 2 finale saw Howie join Victoria Neuman's camp, where he asked for a stable job. While the previous plot showed the young politician as an ally, Doumit's character may become a "wildcard" in the next installment.
Aside from murdering the head of The Church of The Collective, the final episode revealed that she is a "supe," as well. Not to mention, it appears that she is, also, responsible for the shocking massacre that happened inside the courtroom in the earlier episodes of the second season.
To date, there is no clear information about The Boys Season 3's release date. RadioTimes predicts, though, that the new installment will likely arrive in early or mid-2022.
The showrunner, Eric Kripke, also, previously shared that they all hope for the shooting to begin in early 2021. However, the production's timeline may still change due to the COVID-19 crisis.
