Season 5 finished its course on Starz last May. While there are no major cliffhangers on the latest finale, fans of the historical drama show seemingly remain eager to know when Outlander Season 6 will arrive.
But, aside from knowing the details and updates, fans, also, have several questions about the previous plots of the series. They all appear to be quite curious to know about the limits and scopes of time traveling.
Fans would recall that there are already a handful of characters who traveled through time within the series. These include Claire, Geillis Duncan, Brianna Randall-Fraser, Roger McKenzie, and other unnamed characters from the latest season.
The Daily Express recently released a brief report explaining the rules of time traveling in Outlander. Based on the events from Seasons 1 to 5, time travelers appear to have traveled through magical, ancient structures.
Throughout the show's run, the plot has already revealed three locations where certain characters could pass and travel through time. In the first two seasons, fans and watchers saw Claire traveled through time using the stones in Craigh na Dun in Scotland.
In the succeeding installments, the plot thickens and reveals that characters could, also, do it, inside a cave in Jamaica using the magical water. Lastly, an ancient structure of stone in North Carolina seemingly allows time traveling, as well.
However, not all Outlander characters could do it. It remains unclear why, but Brianna once told her cousin Young Ian that only the ones from the future could time travel.
The same publication added that time travelers need to have a gemstone in their possession to succeed with the travel. Geillis Duncan, however, previously shared that, other than the gemstones, a traveler may, also, sacrifice a life. This is an act that she did when she murdered her husband to travel from the late 60s to the 19th century.
The show follows the course of Diana Gabaldon's novel series of the same title. Outlander Season 6 will continue to do so, as well, with a little deviation from the sixth book.
Reports said that the author remains "deliberately vague" on the rules of time traveling. This likely allows her to bend the rules every once in a while amid the course of the show. Hence, fans and watchers seemingly based the rules on the patterns shown in the previous seasons.
To date, there is very little information when Season 6 will arrive on small screens. But, a separate report from the Daily Express stated that the series producer shared a detail last week about the show's movements.
Maril Davis told her followers on social media that they have not started the production and filming yet. She, also, said in her previous interviews that the show is not COVID-19 friendly, noting that they will begin with Outlander Season 6 once it is already safe for everyone.
