Fans are eagerly waiting for Demon Slayer Season 2. As the hype surrounding Season 1 continues and its movie adaptation is still raking hits, all eyes are now on the making of the anime series' second season.
The hopes are now high for Demon Slayer Season 2. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train turns into a massive hit that up fans' anticipation for the second installment.
Recently, Demon Slayer Corps Report: Demon Slayer Anime New Event Announcement Special was held to talk about the show and other events about the series. Demon Slayer Season 1 first hit the small screens in April 2019 and ended in September of the same year.
A movie, Mugen Train, was then out, released on October 16 this year. According to Epic Dope, the film was such a huge hit, and it broke a lot of records in Japan.
Some of the records it had surpassed were made by other blockbuster hits, like Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away. With the fame the franchise is experiencing today, it gives Demon Slayer Season 2's production budget a boost.
There is a big possibility people behind the series will quench fans' thirst with the second season. Also, EconoTimes noted the film's success would be the basis for the new season's approval.
Rumors have it the next installment is now in the works. Spy True, a famed social mage page that gives updates about renowned anime series, revealed in a tweet that its production is now "underway."
Anyhow, fans shall take this assumption with a grain of salt as there is no official announcement about the coming of Demon Slayer Season 2 yet. But, there is still a strong possibility the production is now ongoing even before the movie's release.
Dispatch Publicist 24 noted Akari Kito, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Natsuki Hanae, Hiro Shimono, and Daisuke Hirakawa would return to reprise their roles in the second season. It might also continue to tell the story of the young boy, Tanjiro Kamado, who became a demon slayer, along with his sister, after his family got slaughtered. So, he's on the journey to take his revenge and slay the demons that would come his way.
There is no confirmation as to when Demon Slayer Season 2 will hit the small screens yet. However, there are robust predictions it may come out either by the spring or summer of 2021 and may continue the story Mugen Train featured.
