Fans didn't get the chance to complete watching Riverdale Season 4 after filming was put to a stop due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, The CW is about to drop Riverdale Season 5, and it will continue where the previous season left off. So, what will happen from here?

Season 4 was supposed to have 22 episodes, but to avoid the spread of the coronavirus earlier this year, all of the TV and movie productions are put to a full stop. The show ended with only 19 episodes, but it would continue on Riverdale Season 5.

Fox Exclusive noted the fifth season would feature the last three episodes of the previous installment. Here, fans are about to see different events in the much-loved protagonists' lives, from prom to graduation and more.

However, what fans want to see more is the man behind the release of a mysterious tape, which featured the killing of Principal Holden Honey (Kerr Smith). The teens were only envisioning the murder of Holden, but it seemed to turn into a reality.

Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) found a videotape, where a group of teens wearing masks were killing someone who looked like Holden. Who is behind this killing and who releases its tape?

There will also be a time jump and fans will get to see a new bunch of characters, like Pop Tate's (Alvin Sanders) daughter, Tabitha Tate (Erinn Westbrook). Rumors have it some members of the core four will have new love interests and someone will tie the knot.

Express added fans are about to see Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty sharing a kiss on Riverdale Season 5. The two have been showing romantic gestures in the previous season after having arguments with their respective partners, Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Jughead.

Although Betty wanted to end their romance and hide it from Veronica and Jughead, nothing in Riverdale remains a secret for so long. So, there may be a big revelation about their relationship in the upcoming season.

In addition, Capital FM noted the show's set decorator Denise Nadredre finally dropped the official release date of Riverdale Season 5. The CW also confirmed the new season is set to be out on January 20, 2021.

Nadrede shared the good news in a post on her Instagram Stories. She also said the much-awaited season would drop on Netflix Canada just a day after its release.
