J-Hope is called “Sunshine” by ARMYs because of his bright and bubbly personality. The BTS star also exudes positivity and even chose his stage name to bring hope to people.

But J-Hope is just a regular person like the rest of us, who also has some tough time. While the “Ego” rapper always sees the positive side of things, he talked about his “dark side” in a new interview.

BTS recently graced the cover of Rolling Stone India’s special Collectors Edition. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook get candid about their music and personal experiences in the interview.

The boys were asked about their 2014 Dark & Wild album and their 2015 The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series in the Rolling Stone India Collectors Edition: The Ultimate Guide to BTS edition. J-Hope was specifically questioned about his solo song “Blue Side,” which has a different vibe from his usual tracks.

Rolling Stone India asked J-Hope if the “melancholic” vibe of “Blue Side” is something that he would like to explore more in the future. The magazine also wondered if there is a darker side of the BTS star that he has yet to unleash.

Despite his “Sunshine” title, J-Hope decided to be realistic and admitted to having issues and worries as well. But in a very Hobi manner, the BTS star remains optimistic while talking about his “dark side.”

“I believe we all have shadows as humans. I am grateful that music can act as a mechanism to beautifully express those dark sides” he said.

Meanwhile, V shocked a lot of people when he was asked to rank his members basing on who is the scariest when mad. According to the “Sweet Night” singer, J-Hope and Jimin are his top two.

J-Hope has a smile that could light up a room, but he can get pretty intimidating when he's serious. The BTS rapper is the group's dance leader, and he is in charge of their choreography. JH is very professional and expects his members to be the same way.

However, the rest of the boys don't see this trait of J-Hope in a negative way. All of them appreciate his leadership and rely on him to perfect their performances. RM even consider JH as the second leader of BTS. As for Jungkook, he calls JH his “discipline hyung.”
