Fans are now looking forward to seeing the trio of Kim So-Hyun, Jung Ga-Ram, and Song Kang on Love Alarm Season 2. Despite the rarity of season renewal in Korean drama series, this show, based on Daum webtoon of the same name, will return with a big bang.
The first season of Love Alarm experienced substantial commercial success, ranking as one of Netflix's top releases in 2019. With these feats, it was renewed for a second season in October 2019, bringing fans with Love Alarm Season 2.
The new season directors Kim Jin-Woo and Park Yoo-Yeong have yet to start Season 2's production. The threat of the coronavirus still looms, which badly affects TV and movie filming around the world.
However, Magazine99 noted the situation in South Korea is currently under control. So, cameras may start rolling soon. Some sources revealed the filming might begin as soon as 2021 starts.
What will happen in the second installment? According to Devdiscourse, the new season will continuously focus on the three main characters, Kim Jo-Jo (Kim So-Hyun), Hwang Sun-Oh (Song Kang) and Lee Hye-Yeong (Jung Ga-Ram).
Hwang Sun-Oh and Lee Hye-Yeong have been friends since they were kids. As they grew up, they were both looking for love that made them decide to subscribe to a mobile application called Love Alarm.
The app helps to track a person's soulmate within 10 kilometers radius. It can also connect to the users' hearts to see if they are lying.
From here, their lives started to change as they met the same woman, Kim Jo-Jo. The two both fell in love with Kim Jo-Jo, causing a rift between them.
Kim Jo-Jo found it hard to choose between Hwang Sun-Oh and Lee Hye-Yeong. So, the new season may reveal her decision, and fans are about to see if it will be the right one.
Who will Kim Jo-Jo choose? Love Alarm Season 2 will also reveal why Kim Jo-Jo can't have a heart connection through the application. The three may be introduced to a more updated version of the app and the developer's real intention in creating this program will be unveiled.
Sadly, the new season's release will experience some delay, per What's on Netflix. It is initially set to be out in August 2020, but it has been pushed back to 2021. However, Netflix has yet to announce its official release date.
