Dr. Stone Season 2 will surely come after Weekly Shonen Jump announced its return. Its official title, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, is now out, hinting at its new arc.
It has been almost a year since the first season ended. Now, fans are wondering when they will see Dr. Stone Season 2.
Weekly Shonen Jump has been teasing the coming of the anime series' second season. Later, it officially announced its release, which will be in January 2021.
The second installment will be part of the winter 2021 releases, along with other titles, per Monster & Critics. Anyhow, some of the show's enthusiasts seem to be unsurprised by the announcement.
The recent leaks had been teasing the 2021 release of the second season. What remains to be seen is the number of episodes that it will have or how many seasons it will have.
Season 1 has 24 episodes, but there are predictions Season 2 will only have 12 episodes and a single cour -- if its story will be based on the manga story's pace. So, how will it adapt to the manga's remaining chapters? The Stone Wars Saga may feature the side of the story of the Dr. Stone reboot, Byakuya.
In general, the anime tells the story of Senku, the first human who has survived the world where people are terrified for over 3,000 years. After noticing how the world has changed and nature has taken things over, he learns nitric acid has something to do with it, The Cinemaholic noted.
He then created a potion to revive others, bringing his friend, Taiju Oki, to life. However, the two got attacked by a group of lions, so they had also to revive Tsukasa Shishio, the ferocious fighter, to help them.
Despite Senku's intention to revive everyone, Tsukasa wanted to bring the petrified adults, including Senku. Tsukasa almost killed Senku, but with Taiju and Yuzuriha's, who they also revived, help, they managed to survive.
Senku then discovered a village full of humans, who were the astronauts' descendants unaffected by the petrification. One of the astronauts here was his adoptive father, Byakuya Ishigami.
In the previous season, Senku discovered the time capsule Byakuya left for him. This held a glass record that played with the phonograph he built.
From here, the villagers learned how to make music and other entertainment mediums. As Senku was planning to go to war against Tsukasa, the arc of Dr. Stone Season 2, Stone Wars, is about to begin.
