BIGBANG could make a comeback in early 2021 after over three years of hiatus.

According to a report by All Kpop, Hana Financial made the prediction as part of its review of YG Entertainment's stock performance for the first three quarters of 2020.

Based on the forecast, YG Entertainment could release a BIGBANG comeback next year to seize the momentum provided by BLACKPINK and TREASURE in terms of album sales and profits.

The sales performance of BLACKPINK's three-part comeback and the positive reception to rookie boy group TREASURE placed YG's operating profit at 10 billion KRW (9 million USD) for the second half of the year alone.

For BLACKPINK's THE ALBUM, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose made history by becoming the first Kpop girl group to surpass one million in album sales.

Financial outfit Bloomberg also tagged BLACKPINK as the biggest pop band in the world, based on its Pop Star Power rankings. This was a big deal, especially since the YG Entertainment artists beat top international acts like Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Drake, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and fellow Kpop superstars BTS, who landed on the 10th spot of the rankings.

Meanwhile, TREASURE, the 12-member rookie boy group that was developed from YG Entertainment's reality show YG Treasure Box, sold 250,000 copies of their album for their first project.

BIGBANG's much-anticipated comeback could solidify YG Entertainment's re-emergence as one of the biggest agencies in Korean entertainment.

It can be recalled that after YG suffered from a drop in stock prices in 2019 due to different scandals that plagued the agency, the collective power of G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang and Daesung caused stock prices to bounce back when they renewed their contract with the company, Kpopstarz reported.

Based on the analysis of Hana Financial, YG could generate even more profits from a major comeback from BIGBANG, whose previous concerts generated over one million fans in attendance per year.

If YG succeeds in releasing BIGBANG's comeback early in the year and it generates the same amount of support from VIPs before the members went on hiatus for military enlistment, the label could increase the company's operating profit to 60 billion KRW (54 million USD) for 2022.

Before BIGBANG's expected comeback, BIGBANG leader G-Dragon is reportedly preparing for a solo comeback. This will be G-Dragon's fourth solo album after Heartbreaker, Coup d'Etat, and Kwon Jiyong, Soompi reported.
