The Good Doctor season 4 episode 5 is coming next week on ABC. Viewers should be prepared for whatever is coming here as this will serve as the winter finale. The medical drama series is going on hiatus, once again, after airing "Fault."

Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) is facing a huge challenge in The Good Doctor season 4 episode 5. He is frustrated after one of the interns made a mistake, and he will start to question himself on whether or not he's giving them too much freedom.

Shaun gave the new residents autonomy, but he began questioning his decision when an intern misdiagnosed a patient, leading to some dire consequences. The episode title might be a reference to this storyline, as Shaun will possibly think that it's his fault why this happened.

The promo of The Good Doctor season 4 episode 5 seemingly showed Shaun preparing himself to fail. He has achieved a lot of success in terms of his history as a doctor. Most of his medical cases turned into a success despite encountering several setbacks.

However, Shaun needs to recognize that he cannot win every battle and cannot save every life. Certain things could happen, where he'll start to doubt himself and the decision that he makes. He strives for perfection, but the situation gets complicated when he's tasked to look over the new residents.

Shaun struggles with responsibility after an intern made a mistake and put a patient's life in danger. Some doctors will advise him to take things slow and move a step backward to leadership. His emotions heightened because of everything that's going on around him.

At the end of the clip, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff) reminds Shaun that bad days happen sometimes and they can't do anything about it. This is another challenge for the latter that he must navigate, given that he's used to achieving success.

As for what else is coming in The Good Doctor season 4 episode 5, Dr. Jordan Allen (Bria Samoné Henderson), Dr. Claire Brown (Antonia Thomas), and Dr. Alex Park (Will Yun Lee) will treat a patient who has a ruptured cyst that affects key functions of her brain.

Meanwhile, Morgan Reznick (Fionna Gubelmann) and Dr. Park bond over failed relationships. Since this is the winter finale, viewers could expect some cliffhanger. It remains to be seen when the series is coming back after this one.

The Good Doctor season 4 episode 5 airs on Monday, Nov. 30, on ABC.
