The Good Doctor season 4 is premiering next month on ABC. The series encountered a lot of setbacks in recent months, with the current global health crisis being the major one. The good thing is that the cast and crew began filming in August and preparing to deliver more stories for the upcoming installment.

The Good Doctor season 4 kicks off with a two-hour premiere focusing on the pandemic. The series will tell a story that reflects the current times in the real world. Reportedly, the title of the episode is "Frontline," which is seemingly dedicated to all health workers out there.

The premiere features the surgeons at San Jose St Bonaventure Hospital dealing with the impact of the global health crisis. A new character is arriving within this episode and she's going to play an important role in the pandemic-themed storyline.

It has been confirmed that Carly Pope will have a significant part in the first episode of The Good Doctor season 4. She'll be playing the character of Lily Cross, a wife whose husband becomes sick and shows signs symptoms similar to the coronavirus.

Lily is, reportedly, at the heart of this particular storyline. She is frustrated by the fact that she can't go near her husband. She needs to follow the rules and safety protocols of the hospital. She won't be able to comfort her husband who might be critically ill.

Pope has been featured in a lot of popular shows over the past years. The Canadian actress starred in The WB's Popular and supernatural drama series The Collector. She's also known as Susan Williams in the fifth season of The CW's Arrow, and Tara Messer in USA Network's Suits.

Meanwhile, the entire cast is not coming back in the new season. Nicholas Gonzalez won't be returning as Dr. Neil Melendez, who died of septic shock in the aftermath of the earthquake. Dr. Carly Lever (Jasika Nicole) is not coming back after ending her relationship with Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore).

Also, there are speculations that Dr. Alex Park (Will Yun Lee) and Dr. Morgan Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann) might be making their exits The Good Doctor season 4. Alex wanted to spend more time with his family, while Morgan's health condition is getting worse.

But, in a previous interview with Deadline, series creator David Shore teased these two characters won't be leaving anytime soon. However, he made it clear there are changes for them -- an emotional change for Alex and physical change for Morgan.

The Good Doctor season 4 will be arriving on Monday, Nov. 2, on ABC.
