The Good Doctor season 4 is officially coming this fall on ABC. The series has encountered several setbacks prior to the production start date. The good thing is that cast and crew are now back to work and preparing to deliver new episodes in the next few months.
Just like most medical dramas out there, The Good Doctor season 4 kicks off with a story about the current global health crisis. The upcoming installment will be different from the preceding ones since it's going to take one some important events from the start.
In her recent Instagram post, Fiona Gubelmann, who plays Dr. Morgan Reznick, shared the new poster of the latest installment. The image strongly suggests that new challenges are waiting for Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and the rest moving forward.
The poster features Shaun alongside a question: How do you heal a world turned upside down? Perhaps, we're going to see all the doctors at St. Bonaventure Hospital dealing with the present-day pandemic. It's going to be a tough situation for them in The Good Doctor season 4.
Shaun and others will do whatever they can to save everyone. However, they recognized that it won't be easy to do this. There could be a lot of deaths, which could take a psychological toll on all of them. We could see a lot of emotional moments here, as well as dramatic twists and turns.
The new season premieres a two-part episode focusing on the real-life health crisis. The series isn't new when it comes to this matter. It already featured a localized outbreak and a deadly virus in season 2. Now, the upcoming installment will tell a pandemic story with some individual cases in between.
And amidst the crisis, The Good Doctor season 4 sees most of the characters still need to deal with the aftermath of Dr. Neil Melendez's (Nicholas Gonzalez) death. His tragic death will cause a long-time pain to those left behind.
In addition, the upcoming installment sees Dr. Marcus Andrews (Hill Harper) and Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang) taking Dr. Morgan and Dr. Claire Brown (Antonia Thomas) under their respective wings. As for Dr. Alex Park (Will Yun Lee), he'll be dealing with the distance between him and his family.
The new season will further explore Shaun and Lea Dilallo's (Paige Spara) relationship, as well. They could be together at some point, but it might be short-lived due to complications. Although they've been through a lot, some challenges could tear them apart.
The Good Doctor season 4 premieres on Monday, Nov. 2, on ABC.
