Log Horizon Season 3 drops a new OP video, giving a glimpse of the series' main characters. The clip also shows the new season's theme song and other major details.
According to Epic Dope, Log Horizon Season 3 will feature a new theme song by Band-Maid, titled "Different." In the franchise's official Twitter page, it revealed the main characters rushed in with the new opening tune and teased what is to come.
However, compared to the previous season's opening song, "Database," the new one is said to be "too typical." So, fans may miss the original tune.
In addition to the introduction of the characters, the video also shows several fight scenes involving Shiroe and William Massachusetts, Comicbook noted. It also reveals a slow-motion shot of the Guild Building while it explodes.
As it only takes a month and a half before the official release, the new season is now in "dense development."
Log Horizon Season 3 will cover the manga's remaining volumes 11 to 13. Shiro, his friends Naotsugu, and the Sage of Mirror Lake Regan will explore the vast world they are trapped in. They are all hoping to find their way out and return to the world they used to live in.
Earlier, a trailer for a new season was also dropped, giving a summary of what happened in the previous season. It also showed some Season 3 drama, and fans could expect to see a lot of them. The third installment would bear the official title, Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table, which is the direct adaptation of the 12th novel.
As it has been five years since the previous season ended, fans are eagerly waiting for Log Horizon Season 3. It was officially set to be out in October 2020 on NHK Education, but it was moved to a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also, Trinikid noted that another reason for the delay is the lack of source materials. When the second season ended, the anime had managed to catch up with the light novel series.
The series creator, Mamare Touno, was also caught up with a legal problem in 2015 that hindered him from working on the new installments. It then resulted in a domino effect that affected the new season's release.
Fortunately, the wait will be soon over as Log Horizon Season 3 is set to be out on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
