Fans will miss One Piece Chapter 998 this week as the manga will be on a one-week break. As things are getting very intense with the coming of the much-awaited Chapter 1000, will it still be out later this year?
One Piece Chapter 998 is now surrounded by many predictions and theories involving the Rocks Pirates. Kaido and Big Mom remain to be a significant part of the story and the most prominent players in the Wano arc, both sharing a long history in their time as Rocks Pirates.
According to BlockToro, the new installment may feature some flashbacks for Kaido and Big Mom as a three-chapter mini-story arc is about to begin. It will also give a glimpse of the Rocks Pirates and their captain, Rocks D. Xebec.
As there is a big awaiting battle, a look back to this history may play as the calm before the storm. Kaido, Big Mom, and Whitebeard were all part of the Rock Pirates, so it might have something to do with how things would run.
There is also a big possibility Shanks was a part of the group, and it would be explored in the upcoming chapter. In addition to the said flashback, the new chapter may also delve into the God Valley incident.
As Chapter 1000 is just two episodes away, fans are now expecting to see an epic storyline that may involve a big reveal. However, with the delay of One Piece Chapter 998, will the 1000th chapter still drop this year?
Comicbook noted the manga would be on an impending break for the manga after the release of Chapter 997 on November 29. Hence, Chapter 998 would not be out until the second Sunday of December, while Chapter 999 might drop on December 20.
Although there is still a week for Chapter 1000 to be out, Shonen Jump will be on a break for its annual winter holiday. If this happens, the publication will release a new issue in the first week of January 2021.
There is a big chance that One Piece Chapter 1000 will not be out until January 3 next year. However, fans should only take this assumption with a grain of salt, as nothing has been confirmed yet.
One Piece Chapter 998 is set to be out on Sunday, December 13, at midnight, Japan Standard Time, per HITC. If this follows suit, its English translations will later be out in different parts of the world.
It will drop at 9 a.m. Pacific Time, 11 a.m. Central Time, noon, Eastern Time, and 5 p.m. British Time.
