Barack Obama remains popular among celebrities even years after his stint inside the White House. Alongside high-profile personalities, he still has his avid fans and supporters across the globe.

Amid his continued success following the release of his latest memoir, A Promised Land, Cheat Sheet recalled a moment when the former U.S. President opened up about his friendship with some celebrities, like Jay-Z and Beyoncé. He even revealed how he and the American rapper share a "little bond" because of their wives and daughters.

More than eight years ago, the "Drunk In Love" singers invited the Obamas at their 40/40 club in Manhattan for a fundraising event to support the former American leader's reelection campaign. During the event, Barack Obama made a brief speech before the hundreds of guests.

The HuffPost covered what happened that night, detailing Obama's remarks toward Jay-Z and Beyoncé. He said that he and the rapper have several things in common, like having daughters and "more popular wives."

Then, the former U.S. President stated that, because of these similarities, they have a "little bond." He quipped, later on, that it was hard, but it was "OK."

Earlier in 2017, Barack Obama, also, shared "heartfelt words" for Jay-Z after his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Reports said that he became the first hip-hop artist to receive the honor.

In a pre-recorded video, the former U.S. President congratulated all the inductees. Later on in the video, though, he centered his speech toward the American rapper, whom he referred to as a "true American original."

Obama said that he and the artist "understand each other." He added that no one from their past would have expected them to reach where they are today.

He continued that they are likely cut from the same cloth, adding that they both know how it feels "not to have a father around." He, then, noted that he and Jay-Z try to "prop open the door of opportunity" for others who came up behind them to achieve success a little easier.

Alongside Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, also, has great things to say about Beyoncé. Back in June, she congratulated the "Single Ladies" singer after presenting her the 2020 Humanitarian of Year Award at the BET Awards, according to USA Today.

The former First Lady kept on calling the artist "my girl" throughout her speech. She, also, noted how she "inspires" her and the rest of the public. In the end, it appears that the former First Couple share a close and good friendship with the artists.
