IU recently gave a very mature view on happiness, which moved her brother to tears.

According to a report by All Kpop, IU recently sat down for a two-part interview for her vlog where her brother took on the role of interviewer.

While the first part of the interview seemed light and carefree, the second part was composed of more in-depth questions. Her brother asked her about her definition of happiness after admitting that he got worried a lot of times because of what he read about his sister online.

According to her brother, he believed that his sister was a strong person, but there were times that appearances were not an accurate gauge of her feelings.

He said that he knew that his sister worked hard, but he also wanted to know if she was happy.

In response, IU said that she is happy when nothing happens. She elaborated on her statement and said that there is such a thing as expressionless happiness, which means that if nothing makes her mad or sad, she is happy.

IU continued that most people have the perception that when a person is happy, they cannot look tired or have an expressionless facial expression. This is why she finds it difficult to convince people who don't know her well that she is happy.

IU added that being happy does not mean that she does not have days of sadness or hardship. She said the bottom line is, at the end of the day, she likes and cherishes herself, and she wants to continue living as herself in the future.

After hearing her words, IU's brother admitted that he was tearing up behind his mask.

This was not the first time for IU to address the issue of happiness. She also talked about happiness and self-love during an interview with GQ Korea after she was named Woman of the Year by the magazine.

In the interview, she talked about her upcoming comeback, her insomnia, and the concept of loving herself.

According to the singer and actress, she discovered the difference between self-esteem and self-love in her 20s and admitted that a lot of people get confused about them. She said that self-love is accepting the parts of yourself that are lacking and still loving yourself despite your imperfections and shortcomings, Soompi reported.
