The Masked Singer season 5 won't be arriving anytime soon since the fourth installment has just recently concluded on Fox. Viewers may have to wait for a while for the reality singing competition. But, they can expect more exciting twists once it returns.
The Masked Singer season 5 brings new elements and changes to further excite fans with its arrival. While the show has been a huge hit since the beginning, it still wants to deliver something fresh -- including big celebrity names and how the competition runs.
Speaking to a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Craig Plestis discussed what viewers could anticipate in the fifth outing. He noted that they're excited about the Golden Ear's return, which is being presently planned.
Plestis said that there'd be "some new elements" in The Masked Singer season 5 that he can't tell right now. The executive producer didn't reveal more details about what's coming next in the show, though he noted that it would be an exciting one.
When it comes to casting performers, he teased that there are "a couple of unbelievable surprises" that they haven't done before. The show has been known for bringing huge celebrity names into the competition, and it will continue to do that moving forward.
The recently-ended season 4 features incredible singers, with their profiles "better than any season before." Plestis noted that they're going to surpass that bar in the next installment, which means they'll bring bigger and iconic names in the competition.
However, the biggest challenge here is keeping the names of the celebrities under wrap. In the past seasons, viewers' speculations about certain contestants turn out to be correct. This time, the show might give much harder clues that no one would easily figure out.
As for the judges, fans can expect Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, and Ken Jeong all returning in The Masked Singer season 5. Nick Cannon is coming back as the host of the competition, and more exciting guest panelists are coming, as well.
At the moment, no official release date has been set for the fifth installment. If the premiere will be based just like in season 3, CarterMatt noted the latest installment could come out in February 2021. Still, the decision when to drop the new season depends on Fox.
While waiting for the official arrival of The Masked Singer season 5, fans can watch the spin-off The Masked Dancer premiering on Sunday, Dec. 27, on Fox. The show features panelists Ken Jeong, Ashley Tisdale, Brian Austin Green, and Paula Abdul guessing the secret celebrity contestants based on their dance moves.
