There is little doubt that fans were disappointed when it was revealed that VICTON's December comeback would be delayed as the members chose to self-isolate following COVID-19 testing. However, the wait is finally over. Play M Entertainment has finally confirmed the new VICTON comeback date, and it's happening in early January.

Play M Entertainment posted the update on VICTON's official social media accounts. "The release date of VOICE: The Future is Now, the first full-length album by VICTON was postponed on December 1st. It has now been re-established on January 11, 2021 at 6PM KST," the statement reads.

The statement also offered an update on the showcase event that was supposed to take place on VICTON's comeback. Unfortunately, the event will not push through in an effort to maintain the safety of the idols as well as their fans.

"On November 11, we had a pre-sale and showcase event for our full-length album VOICE: The Future Is Now but the showcase for our album was canceled due to the continuous spread of COVID-19 and the 2.5 Steps. Please understand that this decision is based on the safety of the artists and their fans," the statement continued.

Although the showcase event for VICTON's comeback is canceled, the statement also assured that fans can still get a refund. The group also promised to repay Alices with "better performances" and thanked their fans for the continuing support for the members on the upcoming comeback.

Back in late November, Play M Entertainment announced that the VICTON comeback would be postponed. It was revealed that the members of the boy group participated in content for 1TheK, where an "external staff member" had tested positive for COVID-19. This led to Seungsik, Seungwoo, Sejun, Chan, Hanse, Byungchan, and Subin getting tested as well.

Luckily, the tests of the VICTON members were confirmed to be negative. Nevertheless, the idols and their staff decided to self-isolate for 14 days, prompting the cancellation of the comeback. Although Alices were disappointed, the fans agreed that the decision was for the health and safety of the members as well as the fandom.

VICTON's first full-length album VOICE: The Future is Now was originally scheduled for release on December 1. The LP will feature 13 songs, including three solos from Seungsik, Sejun, Chan, and Hanse. The title track is "What I Said," and the MV for the song is expected to be dropped on January 11, 2021.
