It will take a couple of weeks before fans see Black Clover Episode 158, titled "The Beginning of Hope and Despair," but something big is about to happen when it returns. The franchise's Jump Festa 2021 presentation revealed the next episode is about to begin a new arc with additional new characters and more.
Black Clover Episode 158 will begin the much-awaited Spade Kingdom Arc. The franchise's official Twitter account teased the new arc's coming, along with a new visual.
In a post, it said the new main visual was for the "Heart Kingdom Joint Fighting Edition." It also revealed new opening and ending themes of the series while another is about to begin.
According to Epic Dope, the visual introduces the new incoming characters, Vanica, Zenon, and Dante Zogratis. Fans already met Dante in Episode 156, while the other two were just about to come.

These new additions also come with a couple of new cast members in Black Clover Episode 158. Yui Ogura joins the anime to play the role of Vanica, while Tatsushia Suzuki will give life to Zenon and Rikiya Koyama voices Dante.
Vanica, Zenon, and Dante are Dark Triad members who have mighty mages that rule over the Spade Kingdom. They also have their own devils, just like Asta.
These three's main objective is to create a portal that the devils can use to enter the Earth. Comicbook added these three would have a significant role in the new Spade Kingdom Arc, as the Clover Kingdom is about to begin the intense match up against the "full slate of their Devil abilities" in Black Clover Episode 158.
As this is the arc fans have been waiting for since the announcement of its original anime content, it will surely be a big 2021 for both the anime and the viewers. The Spade Kingdom arc is still on its way to the second major phase of the manga series battles, so the anime has a lot to cover.
In the teaser image, Noelle is in a battle while Vanica while Yuno goes against Zenon. Yami and Asta, on the other hand, both handle Dante. In addition, a promotional video is also dropped for Black Clover Episode 158, revealing the new opening song.
Fans are about to hear the new opening theme, titled "Grandeur," by the boyband Shadow Man. Alternatively, the ending theme is called "Beautiful" by the K-Pop band Treasure.
Black Clover Episode 158 is set to be out on Tuesday, January 5, per Anime News Network. The series is now streaming on Crunchyroll with English subtitles, while Funimation features its English dub.
