RM has the bragging rights of being the tallest member of BTS for almost a decade. Jin, J-Hope, V, and Jungkook have similar heights, while Suga and Jimin are the shortest ones out of the bunch.

With their talent and success, one might think that a height measurement won’t bother RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — but it does. The boys are known for being competitive against each other, and this includes being tall.

In February 2020, Big Hit Labels shared a new installment of its BIGHIT Episode on its official YouTube channel. It featured the behind-the-scenes from BTS, Lee Hyun, and TXT group photos.

One of the concepts was forming all the artists in line from the shortest to the tallest. Then the group was divided into “Team Short,” “Team Medium,” and “Team Tall.”

Jungkook belonged in “Team Medium” and expressed his jealousy towards “Team Tall.” He said: “Tall guys are lucky. I’ll be content with being small. Next life, I’ll be born taller.”

Back in November, Jimin, the shortest member of BTS, took to Twitter to proudly tell ARMYs that he grew taller. According to the screenshot of his results, JM’s height in 2019 was 173.6cm, and he was 174cm in 2020.

Unfortunately for Jimin, a lot of ARMYs were doubtful of the accuracy of his new height update. A month before his tweet, J-Hope threw his members under the bus by sharing that they turned into a certain animal during their health check-up.

“The members become giraffes when they’re getting their height measured.... their necks just, seem to stretch out in such a fascinating way,” he said. Without mentioning any names, ARMYs were convinced that one of those “giraffes” that J-Hope was talking about was Jimin.

Meanwhile, V never really talked about his height or showed that he wanted to be taller until last year. And on his birthday Vlive broadcast, the BTS star shared his new height update. The 25-year-old singer, songwriter, and actor revealed that he was catching up to his dad, who is 180 cm. tall (5’10.8″). V was previously 179 cm (5’10.5″).

RM stands at 181 cm (5’11”), so he is still the tallest member of BTS, but there is a high chance that V will take his spot if he keeps growing. But by mentioning his dad’s height instead of RM, it only goes to show that the "Stigma" singer wasn’t aiming to take that title away from the BTS leader.
