Over the past months, the unexpected surge to popularity of "Among Us" has led players to get more creative resulting in the creation of many fan-made mini-games or modes. Among these mini-games is the Zombie mode, which introduces a new twist to the classic game. Here are the rules and some tips on how to play this exciting mode.

What is The Zombie Mode in "Among Us"

The Zombie mode is another mini-game in the increasing list of mods made by "Among Us" players. The identity of the creator is not known but the mode has become a fan-favorite over the past days. It is somehow similar to another mini-game Hide & Seek but with some major twists.

As soon as the game starts, a player is randomly chosen to take the role of a Zombie. Unlike other players, the zombie's speed and vision is reduced. However, he can still infect other players by simply walking through them.

"Among Us" Zombie Mode Rules

The rules for the Zombie mode are simple and just like the classic game, it has two camps. Interestingly, instead of having impostors and crewmates, the game features crewmates and zombies. The game starts with nine crewmates and one zombie. But, as the game progresses, the number of zombies begins increasing.

Each time a zombie touches a crewmate they become infected and turns into a zombie too. Crewmates still need to finish their tasks before all the crewmates become a zombie to win the game. Zombies have to infect all the crewmates to win.

Also, unlike all other mini-games in "Among Us," players could not vote out the zombies. They need to rely on their superior vision and speed to escape the undead. YouTuber NoBeans shared a video showing the "Among Us" Zombie mode lobby highlighting how intense the mode could get.

Other Zombie Mode Details

In the video, fans can see some players tried to hide from zombies as they finished their tasks. Escaping from one zombie is possible but getting away from multiple zombies is near impossible. The YouTuber also warned players that the first zombie should refrain from using the kill button since multiple instances show that it crashes the game. As a result, it forces all players to the main menu.

This seems to be the only major glitch since the mode ran smoothly during the rest of the match. It would be interesting to see the popular Zombie mode become official in "Among Us." However, it appears that Innersloth is right now eyeing to introduce the new Airship map first.
