The Good Doctor season 4 episode 6 is officially coming next week on ABC following a winter hiatus. There is a big story for Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) now that he's moving into the next phase of his life. His personal and professional life will play out in a huge way.

Based on the promo of The Good Doctor season 4 episode 6, Shaun is preparing and excited to celebrate his girlfriend's, Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara), birthday. It marks their first celebration as a couple, that's why he wanted to make it special and memorable.

He's going to do everything that he can to make Lea's birthday perfect and make her happy. The two have been through a lot before becoming an official couple -- and even drifted apart. Shaun treasures what they have now that they're in a romantic relationship.

But, although his romantic life is in better shape, Shaun's professional life is a little bit complicated in The Good Doctor season 4 episode 6. He is currently teaching some of the new residents, but he declares that he doesn't want to teach them anymore.

It remains to be seen what's the reason why Shaun doesn't want to do it. Yet, it may have something to do with him preferring to treat patients. This is his strength and he likely wants to do more of it rather than teaching new surgeons. Another reason is that he's still dealing with the loss of his patient's mentee.

Meanwhile, the title of The Good Doctor season 4 episode 6 is "Lim," a reference to Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang). She's struggling to cope with the residual trauma of the COVID-19. The pandemic has been a huge part of the early run of the current installment.

The effects of the COVID-19 impacted how the situation runs at the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. The doctors and other healthcare workers have been feeling the emotional and physical strain of the health crisis. For Dr. Lim, she has to deal with it while continuing her job at the same time.

Audrey will encounter a young veteran battling PTSD, which prompted her to discuss his condition with other doctors. Dr. Claire Brown (Antonia Thomas) suggested that the patient may need radical treatment. Since they're feeling the effect of the pandemic, they may have a hard time focusing.

The Good Doctor season 4 episode 6 is set to air on Monday, January 11, on ABC.
