Kate Middleton and Prince William could be heading stateside this year and visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in California if all goes well into plan.

According to an insider, the Cambridges are likely to chart their trip to Santa Barbara, California, where the Sussexes reside. The former Fab Four haven't seen each other in person since Harry and Meghan uprooted their lives from London to the U.S. at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown.

But since William and Harry have started talking to each other again, the visit could be part of their efforts to repair their relationship. The source told Us Weekly that Kate and William want to see Harry and Meghan in their new home.

A second source revealed via OK! that William and Kate have been planning to visit the United States again, after their 2014 trip. Apparently, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continue to be fascinated with America and would like to see many of its famous national parks.

The source said that the Cambridges intend to go to the South and Midwest and then make their way to California. Essentially, the trip to Harry and Meghan's turf would be a bonus.

However, Kensington Palace has not commented on the reports nor shared any details of the Cambridges' next travel schedule. The United Kingdom is currently on its third nationwide lockdown, which discourages unnecessary travel. The new rules will be reviewed in mid-February.

Kate and William visited New York City and Washington, D.C., the last time they were in America. They left Prince George, then just 17 months old, in London for their short official trip on the other side of the pond.

During the visit, Kate and William hobnobbed with NBA players and Hollywood celebrities when they got the chance to watch a Brooklyn Nets game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The couple also met with a few charity figureheads from United For Wildlife and the Clinton Foundation.

Kate had a solo trip to a local childcare development center while William attended the conference hosted by the International Corruption Hunters Alliance. The couple was then reunited in Washington where they visited the White House and sat down with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden and their wives, Michelle Obama and Jill Biden.

Meanwhile, insiders from Harry and Meghan's camp said that the Sussex pair do not have immediate travel plans because of the threats of the virus. However, they want to be back in London for important family events, such as Prince Philip's 100th birthday, the Trooping the Colour, and the unveiling of the statue of Princess Diana in July.
